Classes
Hazel (FS/Y1) – Oak (Y1/Y2) – Willow (Y3/Y4) – Holly (Y5/Y6)
Each of our four classes consists of two year groups. We are huge advocates of mixed age classes because:
Creativity is enhanced through collaboration between older and younger members of the class.
Resilience is developed through shared experiences and challenges in their learning.
Engagement is modelled by the older children and embodied by the younger groups.
Aspiration can be higher for all learners, and limitless opportunities due to a broader curriculum.
Teamwork is fostered from a very young age, nurtured in classes and extended across the school.
Enjoyment is evident everywhere throughout the school day.
Nestled within an area of outstanding natural beauty in the Garden of England, we have taken inspiration from our surroundings and named our classes after trees.
The Office
The school office is your front door to finding out information about the school day, trips, school dinners and much more.
Mrs Hughes and Mrs Catt, our joint Office Managers, welcome everyone with a warm smile and are always on hand with the information required.
They are your first port of call should you wish to make an appointment with a teacher, find out about after-school clubs or purchase uniform. No question is too small.
We like to do our bit for the environment so use the electronic Class Dojo for communication between school and families. Please do speak to your child’s class teacher to get signed up for this free and easy to use service.

Outside
As a small school we celebrate the vast variety of outdoor facilities on our doorstep.
We have the luxury of a huge playing field, outdoor swimming pool and adventure playground. Our nature garden, sensory garden, mud kitchen and outdoor orchestra allow further opportunities for learning.
We like to make the most of our beautiful setting by going on seasonal walks, arranging outdoor after-school clubs and getting out and about at every opportunity – whatever the weather.
Inside
We may be small, but we are well-resourced!
We have over 20 netbooks and ipads to ensure we all develop the essential IT skills that will enable us to embrace 21st century life and learning to the full.
Library Space
From the old to the new and vice versa. Our children have easy access to a large catalogue of rich texts to explore, from Dickens to Donaldson, Wordsworth to Walliams. The children have worked alongside adults to create an accessible yet inspiring environment. Additional space in the library allows it to be the perfect meeting space for FORS and School Council meetings as well as other professionals visiting the school.
School Hall
Our hall is multifunctional. Whether it is a gymnasium or dining room, performance space or winter play area, the children visit the hall daily, providing opportunities for both social interaction and quiet reflection.
Nurture Room
Our Nurture Room provides an additional space to support one-to-one and small group work for our children who need extra time to master a skill, as well as those who benefit from extended learning opportunities.
